Call for Papers (Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and libraries) (Closed)

The International Journal of Librarianship (IJoL) is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on sharing and spreading new ideas and developments in the field of library and information science around the world. Published biannually, IJoL is open access and indexed and full text available in both EBSCO and ProQuest databases, and listed in many online directories such as Library of Congress, Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ), etc., and permanently preserved by LOCKSS/PKP PLN system.

Now IJoL calls for original research papers, field reports, case studies, or any other kind of papers that relate to the theory and practice of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and data science (DS) in the field of library and information science. The topics include but are not limited to:

  • General theory, new development, and trends in AI, ML, and DS
  • Applications and implications of AI, ML, and DS in the library
  • Practice, use case, and case study of AI, ML, and DS in library
  • Data analytics, data mining, and text mining
  • Statistical analysis and application, impact and assessment
  • Digital Humanities, GIS, and GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Achieves, Museum)
  • Collaboration between academic library and university faculty and students
  • Impact of artificial intelligence on the services and collections of libraries around the world
  • Artificial intelligence and the future of the library

This special issue is expected to be published in July 2020. Deadline for paper submission is March 31, 2020.
